Samsung Expands One UI 8.5 Beta to More Galaxy Owners

Samsung is broadening access to its One UI 8.5 Beta program, bringing the latest software experience to a wider range of Galaxy users. The expansion, which continued through April 2026, marks one of the company’s most extensive beta rollouts to date.

Latest Devices Added to the Beta

In the most recent phase, Samsung has opened the One UI 8.5 Beta to several popular models, including:

  • Galaxy S23 series (S23, S23+, and S23 Ultra)
  • Galaxy S23 FE
  • Galaxy Z Fold5 and Z Flip5
  • Galaxy A36 5G (a notable first for the A-series in this beta cycle)

This follows an earlier expansion in March 2026 that included the Galaxy S24 series, Z Fold6, Z Flip6, S25 FE, S24 FE, and Tab S11 series.

Availability and Regions

The beta is currently available in select key markets such as India, South Korea, United Kingdom, and the United States. Rollouts are phased and vary by device and region. For example, Fold5 and Flip5 betas are primarily focused on Korea and the US, while the A36 5G beta appears more limited to India.

How to Join the Beta Program

Eligible Galaxy owners can join the program easily through the official Samsung Members app:

  1. Open the Samsung Members app on your supported device.
  2. Navigate to the One UI Beta section.
  3. Register for the program if your model and region are eligible.

Important Note: Beta software can contain bugs and stability issues. Users are strongly advised to back up all important data before installing the update.

What’s New in One UI 8.5

One UI 8.5 is built on Android 16 (with QPR2) and introduces several enhancements, including:

  • Improved Galaxy AI features
  • Enhanced Quick Share with AirDrop-like compatibility on select devices
  • Productivity and multitasking improvements
  • Better privacy controls
  • Overall UI refinements for a smoother experience

The stable version of One UI 8.5 began rolling out in early May 2026 to flagship devices, starting with the Galaxy S25 series.

This expanded beta program reflects Samsung’s commitment to gathering user feedback across a diverse lineup of devices — from flagships to mid-range models — before the wider stable release. Users in Guwahati or other parts of India with eligible devices should check the Samsung Members app regularly for availability.

If you own one of the supported Galaxy phones or tablets, now is a good time to explore the new features in One UI 8.5 through the beta.
