The mysterious “pyramid” found in Antarctica has been a topic of much speculation and interest on the internet.
However, despite its intriguing appearance, this formation is not an artificial pyramid but rather a natural mountain. It has been shaped into a pyramidal form due to geological processes, particularly the convergence of glaciers on the sides of an existing landmass, forming what is known as a ‘pyramidal peaked mountain’ or a glacial horn.
This kind of mountain formation is not unique to Antarctica and can be found in other glaciated areas around the world. Such natural formations often have a striking resemblance to pyramids due to their sharp, angular features, but they are purely natural in origin. The particular peak in question, found in the southern part of the Ellsworth Mountains in Antarctica, is a notable example. It has been shaped by natural geological processes over time, similar to other pyramidal-shaped mountains like Mount Búlandstindur in Iceland and Bordoyarnes Mountain on the Faroe Islands.
The notion of pyramids or other human-made structures in Antarctica is a recurring theme in various conspiracy theories and speculations. However, there is no credible evidence to support these claims. The features that might suggest such structures are simply the result of natural topography and geological activity. Claims of pyramids in Antarctica have been repeatedly debunked by experts and are largely considered to be part of internet folklore rather than factual discoveries [❞] [❞] [❞] [❞].
