Effective from January 28, 2026, the platform will implement price increases for its Super and Premium tiers while introducing monthly billing options across all plans for the first time.
The changes come nearly 11 months after the platform’s launch and are driven by a significant surge in large-screen viewing on connected TVs, reflecting evolving consumer preferences for premium entertainment on bigger displays.
New Subscription Tiers and Pricing (Effective January 28, 2026 for New Subscribers)
JioHotstar offers three main tiers, each catering to different viewing needs:
- Mobile Tier (Ad-supported, limited to 1 mobile device):
No price changes. - Monthly: ₹79
- Quarterly: ₹149
- Annual: ₹499
- Super Tier (Ad-supported, up to 2 devices, includes Hollywood content):
- Monthly: ₹149 (new option)
- Quarterly: ₹349 (increased from ₹299)
- Annual: ₹1,099 (increased from ₹899, a ~22% hike)
- Premium Tier (Mostly ad-free viewing, up to 4 devices, full access including Hollywood content; note: live sports and live shows may still include ads):
- Monthly: ₹299 (new option)
- Quarterly: ₹699 (increased from ₹499)
- Annual: ₹2,199 (increased from ₹1,499, a ~47% hike)
The introduction of monthly plans provides greater flexibility for users who prefer shorter commitments, while the entry-level Mobile tier remains affordable at just ₹79 per month.
Impact on Existing Subscribers
JioHotstar has assured that current subscribers on Super or Premium plans with active auto-renewal will continue to enjoy their existing pricing and benefits without any changes. The revised rates apply only to new sign-ups or renewals after the current plans expire.
This restructuring positions JioHotstar to better serve India’s diverse audience, balancing accessibility for budget-conscious viewers with enhanced value for those seeking premium, multi-device, and large-screen experiences.
