Mumbai/New Delhi, March 22, 2026 – Global pop superstar Shakira’s highly anticipated return to India has been postponed until further notice due to the prevailing geopolitical situation and rising regional tensions in the Middle East.
The concerts were scheduled as part of the Feeding India Concert 2026, a charity initiative focused on child nutrition and zero hunger efforts, organised by District by Zomato. The shows were set to take place at the Mahalaxmi Racecourse in Mumbai on April 10 and 11, 2026, and at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in New Delhi on April 15, 2026. This would have marked Shakira’s first major live performances in the country in nearly two decades.
In an official statement shared on social media, the organisers announced: “Due to the prevailing geopolitical situation and regional tensions, the Feeding India Concert featuring Shakira has been postponed until further notice. The well-being of our fans, the artist, and the production team remains our foremost priority.”
They added that they are working closely with Shakira’s team to reschedule the shows and will share updates on new dates as soon as possible. All ticket holders will receive a full refund automatically processed to their original mode of payment within 5–7 business days.
The decision comes amid broader disruptions to international tours caused by escalating conflicts involving the US, Iran, Israel, and other regional players. These tensions have led to airspace restrictions, travel uncertainties, and heightened safety concerns for artists, crew, and audiences. Shakira is not the only artist affected—rappers Kanye West (Ye) and Flipperachi have also postponed or rescheduled their India shows for similar reasons. Some of Shakira’s Middle East dates on her Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran World Tour have faced similar issues.
Fans across India expressed deep disappointment on social media, with many describing the news as “heartbreaking” just weeks after tickets went on sale and excitement had built up. While some remain hopeful for rescheduled dates later in 2026, others fear the postponement could lead to an effective cancellation. Several ticket buyers have already reported receiving refund notifications, though a few raised concerns about minor deductions in certain cases.
This safety-driven postponement highlights the growing impact of global geopolitical instability on the live entertainment industry. Fans are advised to monitor official channels, including District by Zomato’s Instagram and website, as well as Shakira’s verified social media accounts, for the latest updates on rescheduling and refunds.
For ticket holders, no action is required—refunds will be initiated automatically. Those with additional queries should reach out to the original ticketing platform.
