PM Modi Declares BJP Will Form Government in Telangana During Massive Hyderabad Rally

Hyderabad, May 10, 2026 – Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday expressed strong confidence that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) would form the government in Telangana in the coming elections, addressing a large public meeting at the Parade Grounds in Secunderabad.

Speaking at the well-attended rally, Modi asserted that the people of Telangana are eager for a change and are disillusioned with the unfulfilled promises of the ruling Congress and the previous Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) governments. He sharply criticised dynastic politics and highlighted the need for a development-focused administration.

“This time, Telangana will have a BJP government,” Modi declared, drawing parallels with the party’s recent electoral successes in other states. He emphasised that a “double-engine government” — with the BJP in power both at the Centre and in the state — would accelerate progress and help realise the vision of Viksit Bharat 2047.

The Prime Minister inaugurated and laid the foundation stones for multiple development projects worth approximately ₹9,400 crore during his visit. These include key infrastructure initiatives such as the Zaheerabad Industrial Park and other industrial and connectivity projects aimed at boosting Telangana’s economy.

Modi also took a lighter dig at Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy, jokingly suggesting that better results could be achieved if the CM joined hands with the BJP.

The event is being seen as a significant show of strength by the BJP ahead of upcoming local body and assembly elections in the state, including the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) polls. Party leaders reported massive crowds at the venue, reflecting growing support for the BJP in the region.

With this rally, the BJP has intensified its campaign in Telangana, positioning itself as the alternative to the current Congress regime and the erstwhile BRS rule. Opposition parties are expected to respond to the Prime Minister’s remarks in the coming days.

The visit underscores the BJP’s continued focus on highlighting central government schemes and infrastructure push in southern states.
