Bordoloi achieved this feat by excelling in the International Space Science Competition (ISSC) 2026, a global event that tests students’ knowledge in space science, astronomy, and research aptitude. The competition involved multiple rounds: an initial examination on April 15, with results announced on May 1, followed by a final round on May 15.
As one of the select few winners — reportedly among only 17 students from across India, with Bordoloi being the sole representative from Assam — he will travel to NASA in the first week of December 2026.
